I am very computer savy and work with cutting edge electronics everyday. This lock is a piece of CRAP! I scanned my own finger about 20 times to have 20 samples to check against. Even when I swipe as careful as I can it still takes 20-30 tries to work. When I first set it up it worked almost first try every time so something is up with it. Unless this is a defective unit I can vouch that this lock is very far from perfect. I really wanted this lock to work as it was much smaller on the outside than my previous powerbolt. I am going to have to go back to the old powerbolt as there is no way that my 6 year old could ever do this! Don't purchase this product until they have gotten the bugs out!

Comment on Kwikset®/Weiser Lock®: SmartScan/Biolock Deadbolt

What I want to know is just how tough this lock is. I have not seen any reports to this. by the shape, it looks to me possible to break it open by using a huge bottle opener-like device. also, how about shocking it with an electrical device, like a modified tazer. An intruder can destroy it enough to prevent rightful access if these areas are not considered. lastly, what happens when the unit just fails. the door is unlocked? the logic could tell the system to open, or the power output device could short out, activate motor and so on.

Comment on Kwikset®/Weiser Lock®: SmartScan/Biolock Deadbolt

It may be a piece of crap for few of user. This is why manufacturer name it as "SmartScan". It is high tech product and good for someone who like to learn and use new products. Anybody won't have any problem to use this lock if you watch manufacturer demo video and read manual carefully. The manufacturer Back and Decker is biggest lock and hardware company in the world. Is it possible that they make a piece of junk? Think about that!! The home depot sell this lock online and store. Is home depot stupid if the product is a piece of junk? Anybody can ride tricycle without any training. Nobody can ride bicycle before they learn and practice. Will you blame that the bicycle is a piece of crap if you can't ride it? Using mechanic and keypad lock is same to riding tricycle. You don't need to learn and practice. Using SmartScan/Biolock is same to riding bicycle. You have to watch demo video and read manual to understand how it works. Trust me that it is much easy than learning how to ride bicycle. It is great product after you used it. You will enjoy the high tech product.

Comment on Kwikset®/Weiser Lock®: SmartScan/Biolock Deadbolt

It is a piece of crap. First I had to have the deadbolt hole in my door enlarged to fit it. Now that it is installed it will hardly recognize my finger. It takes about 6 or 7 swipes before it will let me in the door and that is set at the normal level of security. I would hate to see it on the high level. It is so sensitive to how fast you swipe your finger and what angle you swipe it at that a little kid would never get in! I am going to return it and buy a keypad because I know they work!

Comment on WF-2005 fingerprint door lock

I love this lock. The silver color is cool, it works well even when it's really cold (I am at Rochester NY, the temperature can be as low as 0F). Its response time is short. Very easy to install and operate. It is robust and certainly can guard my house... Anyway, I love it!

Comment on Keylock 97 fingerprint keypad lock

Works great! In the beginning it had to "think" a little before accepting or denying access. So, we registered the same finger several times and then the thumb of the opposite hand. We were worried that we might damage the "key" finger. Works great now...

Comment on Adel LA9-3 fingerprint door lock

I absolutely love this product. It makes my life so much simpler and easier. I can let people in my home without worrying about leaving a key and I can open my door with groceries in my arms.

Comment on Kwikset®/Weiser Lock®: SmartScan/Biolock Deadbolt

"A year ago I had to break my window to get into the house, now that's not a worry. This thing is really practical. I received it as a gift and am amazed. It was really easy to install/setup and recognizes my whole family. You can lock it by touching it a few times and don't even have to be registered. Slick.<br>When you have groceries and digging for the key is another place this works wonders."
